Funded sessions are calculated by age group and will be introduced per Government plans. All children can currently access 15 hours of supported childcare, which can be used over 38 weeks of the year during school term time. From September 2025, Government plans change; further information can be found on the Childcare Choices website.
Starting from September 2024:
Children will be eligible for 15 hours of support, Sessions for funded hours are, 2 x 7.5 hrs days (0830 –1600). Monday- Friday.
The funded hours can be topped up with additional paid access subject to application and availability.
Where funded hours are used exclusively, a daily charge applies for consumables. In addition, if access is required for breakfast and tea clubs, as they are not included in Government-supported childcare options, charges are also applied. These are all subject applications and availability.
Current charges are:
Consumables £5.80 per day
Optional charges
Breakfast club (Access from 08:00-08:30) £8.50 per day
Tea club (Access from 16:00-17:00) £10.60 per day
Support options for additional days via Self-funded access:
Where full-time all, year-round care is required, Government support hours can be allocated. over 50 weeks, subject to application.
Children can access support from 0800-1700 Monday to Friday
Charges applicable include a daily consumable cost, including the supply of nappies and access to Breakfast and Tea Club: Full-day session £106.30 per day
Tax-free choices
Parents who fund additional childcare support days may be able to access Tax-free childcare discounts, in addition to supported hours, options are detailed and available.

A maximum of 30 hours funded childcare is available for all children from working families +9 months.
15 hours universal funding is available for all 3- and 4-year-olds.
Some two-year-olds are also eligible for additional funded hours too if you are in receipt of extra support. Please contact your early years team or Family Information Service at your local council if you think you might be entitled.
All funding is ‘Term Time Only’ for 38 weeks of the year –
- 30 hours x 38 weeks = 1,140 hours
- 15 hours x 38 weeks = 570 hours
We stretch our funding over 51 weeks, giving 11.18 / 22.35 hours per week, 47.5 / 95.0 hours per month.
Our non-funded nursery billing is calculated over 52 weeks, with the cost spread equally over 12 monthly bills.

All meals and snacks are included in our daily rates, as well as nappies, wipes and creams.
For those families with more than one child at Nursery on the Heath, a sibling discount of 10% is given. Please note fees change with a child’s birth date rather than which room they attend.
Funded Childcare
All children in England get 570 hours per year of universal funding from the term after their 3rd birthday, which is usually taken as 15 hours per week term time. A further extended 15 hours is also available – to find out if you are eligible, please visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk.
Please note, you can get 30 hours funded childcare costs at the same time as claiming Universal Credit, tax credits or childcare vouchers.
EARLY YEARS PUPIL PREMIUM (EYPP)
You may be able to apply for Early Years Pupil Premium, extra money to improve your child’s outcomes. For NOTH to receive this funding, your child must be 3 or 4 years old and receiving Free Early Education as well as benefit, such as income support. Please liaise with the office for further details.
